Logan
It had been days and Jack had been keeping track of Logan. The young man had no money, no access to his accounts, no key card to the penthouse, no car, no resources, and he didn't even know how to use his phone. But Jack knew and while he gave Logan time he watched him on CCTV to make sure he was safe. Relatively.
But days had passed and he knew Logan had to be hungry, had to be exhausted trying to be homeless on the streets of London, and when he saw a dispatch for police to Logan's location Jack bolted to the SUV and he got there just as the police arrived.
"Torchwood," he said, flashing his ID. "I'll handle it."

"Why do I feel like I'm being sold a used car?" Logan asked dryly- though he did make his way over to the terminal. It was strange, but It felt like it belonged to him.
He shivered a bit, and he couldn't see it himself, but residual energy sparked off his skin. Something was still happening. Still changing. As if the universe was trying to get everything lined up correctly still.
Somewhere an alarm went off, and Logan jumped a little.

"Uh oh," Jack said and rushed to a station. He picked up a device no bigger than a phone and looked at the readings. "There's a spike in energy in here," he said. "I hate when this happens...it could be anything."
But it wasn't just anything. As Jack moved closer to Logan the device lit up.

"Don't point that thing at me. What the hell, Harkness!" he snapped, unaware that he was starting to, well, glow.
...Though he did notice when Jack started to do it too.
"What's wrong with your skin?" he asked.
no subject
Jack was used to strange things, but glowing, while not common, was something that had happened to him before. And it was never a good thing. Full of life as he was it always meant he was about to die. Or it always had before...except with Carys and that could have easily ended in his death.
"I don't know..." he said, looking at his hand. Then his head began to hurt almost like he'd taken a bullet. He squeezed his eyes shut and dropped the device, clutching his forehead as memories flooded back.

After a moment, he reached for Jack, his finger grasping his arm lightly.
"Jack?"

He blinked hard and looked at Logan. He was so bright.
"Your skin, too," he said, pain straining his voice.
no subject
Logan looked at his hands, shocked by that he saw.
He was starting to feel light-headed and dizzy as well, and he wobbled slightly on unsteady legs.
And then the light seemed to engulf the room. Bright and blinding.

Jack reached blindly for Logan to hold onto him and found himself gasping at air. He felt like he was falling- falling from a great height and he wasn't sure how hard he was going to land.

It was an overwhelming sensation, like being caught in the tide. ...And then suddenly it was done.
The wave had rolled back and the light had faded- And Logan felt a rush of memories run through him. Things he was sure had never happened. Neptune, the island... The future? A strange city on a strange planet... So many realities and worlds, shuffling and rearranging until they overlapped in his mind.
His eyes opened, and he felt- He felt different. Not just in soul, but body as well.
His nose was bleeding, and he frowned as he realized he had fallen to the floor at some point.
"Jack?" he called out. "Jack, you alright?"
no subject
Jack lay on the floor, eyes closed and pale as could be. He'd died so many times that he'd lost count. It never lasted, though. Never for long.
no subject
His mind took him back to that strange city on that odd planet. He'd seen this a thousand times. ...Lived it himself even.
Taking Jack's hand in his, he sat beside the man and waited. He wanted to be there the moment Jack woke up. ...The moment he came back to life.
no subject
Minutes passed and then suddenly he went from pale to normal. He gasped sharply and sat up, hand squeezing Logan's.
Everything was a jumble for a moment and then everything neatly slipped into place. He had a head full of memories of Logan, of the island, of a city where he'd established Torchwood on his own...it was almost too much and his head throbbed a little.
"Are you all right?" he asked.
no subject
"Do you, um- Do you remember other stuff now? Like- Stuff that definitely didn't happen here," he asked awkwardly.
no subject
"I remember," he replied. "The island...the city...everything," he said quietly. "...You."

Logan reached over, stroking Jack's jaw and then pulling him in to kiss him soundly.
"Look at that," he said as he pulled back. "Worlds melding, timelines crossing. the universe as we know it shifting around us... Just so we can be together. Now that's love, Captain. That's epic."
no subject
One kiss wasn't enough. Jack caught Logan's face in both hands and pulled him in again, this time letting it linger and last as he tasted the younger man until he absolutely had to stop to breathe.
"Epic," he agreed, panting. "I told you, didn't I? On the island? I told you we'd be together."
no subject
"This is weird, huh? It's like I remember all these different lives. From you getting stung by a jellyfish to the two of us being held captive by squid people. ...It's all in there. Some of it's blurry, but- It's there."
no subject
"So many lives...and we're still together," he smiled. "God, I love you. You remember that, too, right? That I'm so...so in love with you."
no subject
"Yeah, yeah- I remember, Jack. I know. ...I love you too. I love you, always will, captain," Logan said with a soft smile.
no subject
"Now that we know..."
Now that they knew...what now? Jack had never been in this position in his life...in this timeline.

He smiled at that and looked down at Logan's hands.
"Such an optimist," he said. "You going to join me here? At Torchwood now?"
no subject
Because the memories weren't just memories now- They were part of him. Real and vivid, and all painting a single picture.

Impulsively, Jack kissed him again. His smile wouldn't fade as he reached for Logan's hand.
"Let me show you around London," he said. "I'd planned on showing you all this but...but it can wait. Let's go out."
no subject
"Gonna wine and dine me Harkness?" Logan laughed, returning the kiss, then shrugging one shoulder. "Alright. I guess aliens can wait. ...Given some of our past run ins with them, I'm not too eager to dive right in."
