Jack couldn't just leave well enough alone. When he had free time, he found himself haunting the hospital, driving past Greg's building, spying on him as he got coffee. He even lo-jacked his bike.

But actually talk to the man? That wasn't in the plan.

He was actually in the hallway outside the clinic when his phone rang. He stopped to look at it, but it was just his boss so he swiped the call away.

Jack gave House a look.

"Really?"

House frowned. "Really. What is it, you, or me?"

"It's absolutely you," Jack answered. He took a sip of his water and when he sat it down he pushed it aside. "One hundred percent."

“What does that even mean?” House sighed, and knocked back the rest of his drink.

"Why don't you take me back to your place and I'll explain it," he said suggestively.

House considered this for a moment. "All right. But I'm not promising to put out. I'm sure you know that you are appealing straight to my insatiable curiosity, not my dick," he said.

"You're all talk. You'll put out and you know it," Jack quipped and gave House a wink. The whiskey was gone...It wouldn't be much longer now. Probably just enough time to get House home and safe.

"If you've been stalking me, you've probably heard rumors that I have a boyfriend," House said as he slid out of the booth.

"I heard you're part of your boyfriend's harem," Jack countered.

"Ouch," said House, but looked kind of impressed. Then shrugged. "Fair."

"Yeah, well...I got kind of good at calling you on your bullshit," he replied with a tiny huff of a laugh.

"Let's go," said House. "My insatiable curiosity is getting restless."

Once they were loaded into the rig, Jack pointed them toward House's flat.

"Fine, you know...Just ask me whatever," he offered.

"Is your masochism really the reason you're stalking me?" House asked.

"Probably," he replied. "Or maybe nostalgia."

Since he had an open line to ask questions... "Did you love me?"

"I did," he nodded. But he offered nothing more.

House honestly didn't know how to react to that. "And did I love you?"

"Yes," he again nodded.

Poor Greg. This part was never easy.

House took this in for a moment. He found that he believed him. And considering how infrequently he fell in love...

"That's by building," he said. "But I guess you knew that." He rubbed his eyes. Why was he tired?

"Yeah, I knew that," he said as he parked. "I've been around. You know. Not stalking you."

"Right, all that not stalking." House opened the door and got out, limping inside and letting them in. "And I suppose you've been in here too?" he added. "You break in while I was at work?"

"Something like that," he replied. "You need a housekeeper."

"I don't have many guests," House said with a snort. He put a hand to his head as he started to feel a little dizzy. He was feeling fuzzy. But he hadn't taken vicodin in a couple of hours.dr

"Yeah, I know," he said, moving to the sofa to tidy up a bit of paper and fluff the pillows. "You look exhausted, Greg. Why don't you lay down while we talk?"
