Logan
It had been days and Jack had been keeping track of Logan. The young man had no money, no access to his accounts, no key card to the penthouse, no car, no resources, and he didn't even know how to use his phone. But Jack knew and while he gave Logan time he watched him on CCTV to make sure he was safe. Relatively.
But days had passed and he knew Logan had to be hungry, had to be exhausted trying to be homeless on the streets of London, and when he saw a dispatch for police to Logan's location Jack bolted to the SUV and he got there just as the police arrived.
"Torchwood," he said, flashing his ID. "I'll handle it."

"I just spent a few years sharing an island with dinosaurs, nothing's that thrilling any more," Logan snorted, grabbing his keys last and heading for the door.
"How far is it?"
no subject
"It's in the heart of the city," Jack said. "Underground. The main building is all glass and steel, but my work is...less visible," he explained.

"An epic sex dungeon? Really?" he asked skeptically, following Logan to the lift. It was when they were inside he said under his breath, "I rent space for that."

Logan raised a brow, but said nothing, hitting the button to close the doors and leaning back against the elevator wall.
"So you really trust me with all this secret alien stuff?" he asked.
no subject
"You're an interdimensional traveler from another point in time, Logan. I think you are exactly the sort of person I should be trusting with things like this," he said confidently.
no subject
"Yeah, yeah. I'm still not convinced this doesn't end with me in a cargo crate being shipped off to China or something," Logan snorted, smirking a little as the elevator doors slid open, and deliberately bumping Jack's shoulder with his own as he stepped out into the lobby.
no subject
"I promise I'm not going to lock you up and make an experiment out of you," he said, and then there was gravity to it as he said, "You have my word."
no subject
"Thanks, that worry hadn't even crossed my mind yet," Logan replied, frowning slightly as they headed for Jack's SUV.
no subject
"Come on, Logan...I'm joking," Jack said, grinning at himself. He hit the fob and the doors unlocked. "You'll like it. I haven't met a person who hasn't been in awe of what we do."
no subject
Logan rolled his eyes again, but didn't argue. Honestly, he wouldn't admit it to Jack, but he was just a little excited to see what the man did all day now that he wasn't the island's Casanova.
no subject
Jack took him to the SUV and headed out into the traffic that only grew thicker as they entered the city proper, the heart of it.
"How are you coming with your phone? Have you gotten onto the computer?"
no subject
"No. I did discover instagram though," he grinned, holding up his phone to show off a photo he'd shared of himself flexing in the mirror.
no subject
"Oh great, you jumped right into social media," Jack chuckled. "Nice picture."
no subject
Logan laughed, tucking his phone away and getting comfortable.
"This car's nice, man. Do I have a ride here?" he asked.
no subject
"You haven't bought one yet, but you always can," he replied.
no subject
"Yeah? Maybe I'll get a convertible," Logan grinned.
no subject
"A little two seater?" Jack asked. "About an inch off the ground with about five thousand horsepower?"
no subject
"Sounds about right. I mean, it's not like I need something to shove my board into any more," he sighed.
no subject
"You could go home, you know. Or move to Hawaii. Or Australia. I know there's no surfing the Thames but you're not trapped here, Logan," Jack pointed out, much as it pained him to do so.
no subject
"Yeah. I mean- Yeah, I could," Logan shrugged, wondering if that was a hint. Maybe Jack didn't really want this version of him hanging around.
no subject
"The world is your oyster, Logan," Jack said, then looked over and smiled. "Maybe I can tempt you to stick around here. Maybe."
no subject
"Do you even really want me here?" Logan asked. "You were ready to walk out the other night."
no subject
"I do. I actually really do. But I won't force you to stay," Jack said. "And I get that you need time to adjust to this world."
no subject
Logan was silent for a long moment, then shrugged one shoulder. "I'm not in any rush to go," he said softly.
