Logan
It had been days and Jack had been keeping track of Logan. The young man had no money, no access to his accounts, no key card to the penthouse, no car, no resources, and he didn't even know how to use his phone. But Jack knew and while he gave Logan time he watched him on CCTV to make sure he was safe. Relatively.
But days had passed and he knew Logan had to be hungry, had to be exhausted trying to be homeless on the streets of London, and when he saw a dispatch for police to Logan's location Jack bolted to the SUV and he got there just as the police arrived.
"Torchwood," he said, flashing his ID. "I'll handle it."

Looking up, he studied Jack with dark eyes.
"Why are you here, Harkness?" he asked quietly. "How are you here?"

He didn't though. He was too tired to try.
Instead he got up, without Jack's help, and wrapped his arms around himself as he shuffled off towards the SUV.

"You need a bath," he said. "I'll take you back to the Ritz."
no subject
"Screw the Ritz," Logan muttered. He wanted to snub the food, but he was absolutely starving, and the moment he sat down, he began to eat.
"How did you find me?" he asked between bites.

"Why? What do you care if I get locked up?" Logan asked, rolling his eyes a little. "Since when do you care about what happens to me, Harkness?"
no subject
"Since now," he said. "Okay? I've had some time, you've had some time. If you want to go, fine, or you can stay with me. You can work for Torchwood and we can eat pizza and...I don't know. That's about as far as my plan got."
no subject
"Right now I just want a hot shower- Or a bath. Whichever. I just want to be clean."
no subject
"You've got clean clothes up there, and I think maybe you should let me check for lice," he said, looking vaguely disgusted.
no subject
"Fuck off," Logan replied quietly, finishing the food Jack had brought, and finding that he was still starving.
He was doing his best to be cold and detached, but it was obvious he was shaken, His whole world had been turned upside down in an instant, and he had no idea how he was going to adjust.
no subject
"Go take a shower or a bath or whatever. I'll order room service. Cheeseburger? Pizza? You want a proper fry up with beans and tomatoes and eggs?" he asked.
no subject
"All of it," Logan replied, raking his fingers through his hair and shrugging. "Do I have, like- Money, or whatever? I'll pay for it if I do," he added, not waiting for an answer before slipping off to wash up.

He did know enough to make sure there was no shellfish on the menu, then he got a bottle of water from the mini bar and sat down to wait.
It didn't surprise him that the food arrived before Logan emerged from the bathroom.
no subject
No surprise there, really. Logan could always find a fight.
"God, this smells so good," he sighed, dropping himself into a chair and grabbing a slice of pizza.
When he bit into it he literally moaned, his head tilting back as he closed his eyes.
no subject
"Just keep in mind you've been empty for a while. Don't make yourself sick," Jack said as he sipped his water. On the table in front of the sofa had taken the time to lay out Logan's cards and banking information, as well as opening the lad's safe and rescuing his passport. It was all there for him. The world at his feet.

"So, if you don't remember the island, but you do remember me and some stuff, does that mean you're from, like, some other timeline or whatever? That would be some classic island bullshit," he noted as he grabbed his next slice.

Logan looked thoughtful for a moment, chewing his pizza and then shrugging one shoulder.
"The island is, like, its own little world. There's no voluntary in or out, it's just frozen, right? I used to think it was some kind of purgatory, but- I think maybe it's more like a drifting moment in time, right? It drifts through time lines and realities, picking things up as it goes and creating copies of those things- Those people who come and go, they don't leave their time line, if they did they'd just vanish from their lives, and I mean, that obviously doesn't happen- I mean, other people turn up for the same places who can confirm that. So maybe, like, the copies don't always get returned to the right places or times," he suggested.
no subject
"So are you telling me I left and returned on my trip back to England and you wound up back in Neptune, then we just happened to meet each other in London and then by some bizarre circumstance your island incarnation burst out of your own body like it was a cocoon?" Jack said flatly, then took a sip and shrugged.
"It could happen. I've heard of stranger things."

"You're also...what?"
He paused to think.
"Eighteen?"
no subject
"Twenty in August," Logan nodded.
