Jack slipped behind the wheel and headed for the Torchwood hangar on the outskirts of London. It wasn't marked and heavily gated and guarded but Jack's ID got them in without a problem. He and Logan walked in and then out the back where a ship was waiting to be 'inspected'. It was a beutiful piece of machinety, sleek and silver, untouched by time or travel. Jack touched the ship and the metal opened and morphed into stairs for them to enter.

Inside the light glowed softly from unseen sources. Jack went to the pilot's seat and looked at the controls. The Nandovarian tech was close enough to Chula systems that it took him no time to close the door and give Logan a look.

"Get buckled in, I'm not sure what sort of inertial dampeners this baby has."

"I literally don't know what that means really, but alright," Logan laughed, buckling in and getting comfortable.

The ship was sleek and comfortable, and there was something familiar about it that nagged at him a little.

Jack took off before Torchwood had time to blink. The ship shot ahead and up at a tremendous speed but the G force hardly registered inside the ship. There was no window but a view screen showed the sky before them and it was cloudy then clear blue then blacker and blacker and...space.

"I'll never get over that- leaving atmo."

Logan felt a little ill, but only nodded his agreement as he took a deep breath.

"I've missed this," he said softly. "I mean, I haven't, but some version of me has. The version of me that spent more time in the stars with you than on land."

"It's been a while since I left the Earth...and that didn't go so well," Jack said. He plotted a course for Jupiter to begin with and then swung around to look at Logan.

"You should be grateful for the anti-grav. You could be floating right now," he grinned.

Logan smiled at that, bit it was an unsure smile. Sad even.

"How much do you remember?" he asked. I know you remember the island, but- Do you remember Kin?"

"I do," Jack replied, his smile faltering and fading. "That was...a strange time. Violent. And...complicated."

[logan_echolls]

"Do you still feel like that man?" Logan asked. "I still feel like that kid- I remember the island so well, but I don't feel like that man..."

He trailed off, not sure he could put it into words.

"I feel very young still. ...I guess I am young still. I dunno- I dunno what any of that means, I just know it's weird."

"I don't feel like either of them," Jack said. "Or maybe both, but mostly this life. This world. I feel like someone new and different...even if I know I love you. If I know this is destiny."

[logan_echolls]

"Yeah?" Logan replied. "Maybe that's it, huh? Shiny and new or whatever."

He smiled then, spinning a bit in his seat, then gently kicking the side of Jack's with a grin.

"You love me? You loser," he grinned. "Gonna ask me to prom?"

"I was planning on it...you've ruined it now, though," he said, the corner of his mouth pulled up. "Maybe we can skip the dance and just hit the back seat..."

[logan_echolls]

"What, you don't want to dance with me?" Logan asked, feigning insult, before grinning again.

"Can I get up and walk around now?"

"Yeah, go for it. We should probably see if there's any supplies at all. That'll determine how long we can stay out here. Water, food...you know," he said.

Getting to his feet, Logan was unsteady for a moment before he started poking around.

"This stuff back here looks like nutrient gel- There's clear liquid in some bottles, but I can't read the text."

Jack joined him and flipped open his wrist strap and scanned the text to translate.

"It's water," he smiled. "So we're good. It's probably a million years old so it might not taste great. Mmm, nutrient gel. That's what makes life worth living," he added with a laugh.

"We should have totally brought that pizza," Logan replied, tutting a bit as he caught hold of Jack's coat and tugged him close to steal a kiss.

He smiled against Logan's lips and caught his face in both hands in return. Jack tilted his head and deepened the kiss, humming soft approval at the simplicity of it.

Jack was so familiar, and the kiss was just right. It was like coming home, and Logan moaned softly before finally pulling away.

"Kind of sparse in here. Do you think there are beds built in somewhere? Maybe a TV or some games or whatever? It's a long distance ship, right- So there should be more than some food and two seats."

"You'd think. Start looking around. Maybe one of these panels in the bulkhead opens out," he said, reluctantly letting go of Logan so they could explore the ship.

Running his fingers over the walls, Logan searched for hidden seams- Only to accidentally find a button instead.

The wall opened up, exposing a pure white room and a simple computer panel.

"Check it out. I've seen this before. Remember that ship we stole on our way back from Kitmarnox? That ship had one too- Hard light hologram deck. It's small though... Multifunctional room?" he guessed, looking back at Jack for conformation.

"That would be my guess," he nodded walking inside. He scanned the panel with his strap and read the details, then began to touch the panel. Lights lowered and swelled and a bed appeared.

"I'm sure that's not all it does. But it's a start. See if it's soft."

[logan_echolls]

Logan wandered over, examining the bed, then flopping onto it.

"Soft enough for me. This will do," he decided, kicking off his shoes as he settled in.

"If we ever buy our own place, we need to install one of these, man."

"This kind of tech is above and beyond," Jack laughed as he fell onto the bed beside Logan. "We could just cloak this ship and live here. Park it on Big Ben...what do you sa?"

[logan_echolls]

"I could be into that," Logan laughed, grinning at Jack as he rolled onto his side to face him. "We could leave Earth whenever we wanted- Just vanish."

"We could stock up on supplies and just go," he said. "This has a light drive, we could see the galaxy. I promised you on the island I'd show you the stars..."

[logan_echolls]

"Yeah, you did," Logan grinned, rolling over so he was half atop the other man. "I used to think you were talking a lot of shit sometimes- But I wanted it to be true. I wanted to see the universe with you."
